Ungerberg:
Ungerberg is the Gols vineyard located closest to Lake Neusiedl.
The soil is noted for its lime content and capacity to retain
water. The wines from this site are defined by powerful tannin
structure and mineral character. We have two parcels planted
here with Blaufränkisch. The grapes from the younger vines
are used for the red Pannobile and the others are dedicated to
the Ungerberg. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grow in the most
westerly section.
Salzberg:
We planted in the most famous vineyard of Gols in two steps.
The first planting, which took place in 1987, was planted with
our own clone of Weissburgunder (Pinot blanc) originally growing
in the Schafleiten vineyard. A few years later we planted another
piece with Pinot blanc and a small (20 are) section with Syrah
in order to test Syrah’s compatibility with Salzberg.
