“Golser Spezial” was one of the first wine brands from Gols in the 1980s, under which mostly cuvees from white wines were brought to the market. At the time it was customary that empty bottles could be returned and were then washed and refilled. Those wines were filled into in brown, green, white bottles … whatever was available.

For our “Spezial” we use grapes from Heideboden. The varieties Sämling, Welschriesling, Grüner Veltliner and Pinot Noir produce a fruity, light summer wine through spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large, old wooden barrels. After 5 months of maturation on the yeast, the “Spezial” is filled into bottles of various colours as vin ordinaire.


The wine is a product that can be purely attributed to Gols, as even the label was made by a local resident. Many thanks to Melanie Limbeck (DasMundwerk).
